SEPTEMBER
We have had a really busy summer here at the salon and the time has just flown by. Lisa is now back from maternity leave and we are pleased to welcome Alison to the team - Alison is a counsellor and has appointments available on Mondays at Cherish.
We have brought some exciting new treatments in over the summer and have more in store before the end of the year! Recent additions to our therapies include the fabulous new Polish Plus - a new generation 2 week wearing nail enamel - a much bigger range of Minx nail veneers, and the beautiful new Organics spray tan and Organics Illusion rapid spray tan (which can be washed off after application in as little as one hour, compared to the usual minimum of eight hours).
Gorgeous Christmas gifts are on order and some of our therapists are already becoming booked up for the festive season!
We are really pleased to now be stocking 'TheO' heated hair roller system and Cloud 9 Hair Straighteners - Cloud 9's have been created by the inventor of GHD's and have some really cool features including a variable temperature control. APRIL
Over the past few weeks we have been pleased to welcome Hair Stylist Kelly, Nail Tech Ellie and Junior Nail Tech Darby to the team.
We also have another Cherish baby! Hair Stylist Lisa is now proud mummy to baby girl Maddie. Both are home and doing well.
Beauty Therapist Michelle enjoyed a fantastic visit to Matis headquarters in Paris. We were lucky enough to be one of only ten accounts in the UK who were invited to visit Paris and Michelle recieved some excellent training and met key people from the Matis skincare house.

JANUARY
It's been a very busy Christmas here at Cherish and everyone is back after enjoying some well deserved time off! We managed to stay open as usual during the snowy weather, with some staff and clients walking through the snow to get to their appointments!
We were pleased to welcome Hayley back to the salon in December in her new role as PA. Hayley has been extremely busy organising some of the exciting events we have planned for the new year. AUGUST
We are pleased to welcomeNail Stylist Donna back from her maternity leave at the end of September. Donna will be working Tuesdays and Thursdays and is looking forward to seeing all her clients.
Our beautiful, large range of handmade jewellery has been astoundingly popular over the summer months with new stock coming in every 3 weeks. Prices are very reasonable and we stock many different styles and colours to suit everyone.
We recently had a photo shoot with local photographer Mark Moore, and have lots of fantastic new pictures of the salon and staff which will be used on our website and in our new brochure which is due out in the New Year.
We are also pleased to offer a discount to OAP's in our hair studio on Tuesdays.
JULY
Louise has joined the team at Cherish. Louise is a Hair Stylist and Nail Technician. Louise is offering a 25% discount on gel nails (extensions, gel manicures/gel pedicures, infils) for a limited time only.
We took delivery of the new neon gel colours by NCO London this month - fab bright neon colours which are bang on trend. The shocking pink and neon orange in particular have proved a hit with our clients.
We now stock a lovely range of jewellery at very reasonable prices. It has been flying off the shelves and we have ordered 3 times within a month to keep up with demand!
We also now stock the Tangle Teezer hairbrush as seen on the TV show Dragons Den. This amazing little brush comes in various colours (our favourite being Hot Pink!) and is fantastic on all hair, especially long hair, childrens hair, hair extensions and wet hair. It doesn't pull at all - meaning an end to the endless battle for mums trying to brush their childrens knotty hair! £9.95 each - we use them in the salon, and our initial stock sold out within days.
JUNE

Spring 2009 has been particulary busy here at Cherish.
We recently welcomed an additional Nail Stylist to the team - Julie has been qualified for 5 years and is working towards her Nail Masters qualification. Beauty Therapist Ria also joined us in May. Ria specialises in Bridal make up and recently studied media make up.
We have expanded our large range of Essie enamel colours and NCO London gel nail colours - we also custom blend gel colours to suit our client's exact colour requirements. Minx toes have been going down a storm at the salon this month! Many clients have been 'Minxed' and are now sporting silver or gold mirrored toes, Zebra or Leopard print and many other amazing effects!
The salon is currently being re-decorated and we are also awaiting new windows to be fitted. Our offer for July is the Matis Skin Booster Facial* - only £28.
This fantastic 1 hour facial uses deluxe products from the award winning, French skincare house Matis. The key stage to this treatment is a remineralising and exfoliating face mask which sets to an almost rubber like consistency. This facial can be adapted to suit all skin types, includes a long, relaxing facial massage and leaves skin fresh, soft and supple. This facial is only available during the month of July and only with beauty therapist Ria.
MARCH
Congratulations to our Nail Stylist Donna and her partner Ross on the birth of daughter Liara on March 15th, and also congratulations to Receptionist Georgina and husband Justin on the safe arrival of daughter Maisie on March 25th. Two beautiful baby girls who now have lots of Cherish 'aunties'!
We visited the UK's largest annual trade show at the beginning of March - Professional Beauty which is held at Docklands, London. We came away with plenty of fresh ideas and new stock for the salon.
We had great fun wearing Pyjamas at the salon on Red Nose Day and also ran a sweepstake for our clients, which raised over £85 for Comic Relief!
FEBRUARY
Nail Stylist Donna and Receptionist Georgina are now on maternity leave and we are all impatiently waiting for the patter of tiny feet and are very excited about 2 new Cherish babies! We have a new Saturday receptionist Hannah, who is running reception very well. Despite the snowy weather our open evening was a huge success and it was lovely to see so many regular clients and many new faces. Thanks to everyone for coming along and supporting us. Hair models are now required for colouring and blow drys. Call the salon if you would like to take advantage of this!
JANUARY
We are delighted to announce that Hair & Nail Stylist Chantel has returned to Cherish after her time working around the world styling hair on a luxury cruise liner. Chantel is a talented Hair Stylist who enjoys both comptemporary, fashion cuts and traditional hair styling. She specialises in Bridal Hair Design and Hair-Ups, and is pleased to welcome back both previous and new clients. Chantel is also an experienced Nail Technician and uses both Gel and UV Acrylic.
We launched our stunning new massage treatments this month! The 55 minute Back Bliss Treatment begins with a hot towel compress, enriched with your personal blend of essential oils. This candlelit aromatherapy massage uses advanced techniques including swedish massage, chinese pressure points and no-hands massage (where the therapist uses her elbows and entire arms to massage) to relax and de-stress the back, neck, shoulders and scalp. This treatment is also available as an 85 minute full body treatment - Body Bliss Massage. Book a Bliss Massage in February and choose FREE either 25 mins reflexology or express facial.
Our new staff room extension was completed in January. It looks great - thanks Martyn!
We are changing the layout of the salon again to accomodate our expanding business. Tanning treatments have become extremely popular at Cherish and we now have a tanning treatment room. Due to our increasing number of Hair Stylists, the number of hair washing stations has increased and has been moved into a larger room, which is also able to accomodate clients waiting for their hair colours to develop. We also have a new waiting room for clients, with a comfortable seating area where clients can wait for their polish to dry or simply just to relax after their treatment with a coffee and a magazine.

DECEMBER
It was a typically busy December at Cherish with clients coming in to prepare for the festive season. We all enjoyed the Christmas Party - there are some fab pics on the salon notice board! - and we all took a well earned break between christmas and new year to enjoy some time with friends and family.
Cherish are always keen to set the trend and we became the first salon in the area to stock Essie nail polishes. We are known for our huge selection of gorgeous nail colours - and our new Essie range does not disappoint! We also became the first salon in the area to stock Minx nail armour. This is a revolutionary new idea for nails which is sent over to us from California, USA. Clients can choose from a selection of funky nail designs which are printed onto vinyl and shrink wrapped onto the nails! Minx toes can last many weeks, and hands for a week or more! Many A list celebs have been spotted wearing a set of beautiful Minx nails - the perfect touch for a special occasion.
NOVEMBER
Christmas stock has been arriving throughout the month. The pretty and unusual party style handbags, and stunning jewelled hair slides, have gone down a storm and we had order more in within days of the first batch arriving at the salon! We also sourced some pretty scarves, sparkly shawls, and wraps from Ireland - the original and unusual designs are so versatile that each come with a little booklet giving you many ideas on how to wear them!
We have some great offers for November, a superb party package for December and a great selection of carefully tailored Christmas package vouchers. We have leaflets in the salon with full details of our Christmas package vouchers - ideal to leave on your coffee table as a hint for the hubby!
We are pleased to welcome Eyelash Technician, Emma Frost to the salon. Emma will is now holding regular clinics at the salon where she offers Semi Permanent Eyelash Extensions. The eyelash extensions consist of individual hairs which are attached to your own eyelashes to add length, thickness and colour. The finished effect is truly stunning and perfect for the busy December party season. Beauty Manager, Hayley is sporting a gorgeous set of Eyelashes which were created by Emma. Call the salon for further information and to secure a date for this fabulous new treatment!
OCTOBER
There was exciting news in October for Cherish, when Luisa competed at the The National Nail Competition which was held at the Professional Beauty North show at the GMEX in Manchester. Hair Stylist Kim was the hand model and Luisa was delighted to be awarded the 2nd place trophy in the Gel Nails category. This brings the total number of trophies for the nail studio, to 4 in less than 18 months!
SEPTEMBER
Hair Stylist Allison March joined our team this month. Allison has been hairdressing in Tetbury for 25 years and will be a familiar face to many of our local clients! Our fantastic September offer is a free 25 min Aromatherapy Back Massage with any of our facials.
AUGUST
Cherish was very busy with the wedding season and clients getting ready to go on their summer holiday. Spray Tanning has been one of the most popular treatments this month and we introduced the brand new Tantrick Tanning Solution 'Autumn Gold'. A gorgeous medium depth tan with the scent of Vanilla - yum! We also brought in a fantastic new stripless hot wax by market leader Berins. Berins is new to the UK and we were delighted to be one of the first salons in the country to acquire it. Hot waxing is becoming very popular amongst our clients - especially for Brazilian and Hollywood Bikini waxing, as most find that hot wax is a more comfortable method of hair removal in the bikini area.
JULY
Cherish continues to grow with the addition of Kim Hooper to our team. Kim is a Hair Stylist who specialises in colouring, and has already impressed clients with her ideas and creativity. Kim is also a qualified nail technician and has provided some welcome support to our extremely busy nail studio. Our other new member of staff is Beauty Therapist Michelle Williams. Michelle has a very impressive CV, having worked for some very prestigious spas. Her speciality is massage, and she also performs sports massage - a great addition to our treatment menu. A beautiful new treatment room for Michelle has been designed and completed on the ground floor - also giving us the benefit of a ground floor treatment room - ideal for clients who find using stairs difficult. We are creating a staff building next door to the salon, although this will take a few weeks to complete. Our Collagenics Youth Clinic is busy and we have put extra dates in to accomodate all Collagenic clients. The results from the models on our open evening were very impressive and the models were extremely happy with the results.
JUNE
Cherish are pleased to announce a new monthly 'Youth Clinic' run by Collagenics. Collagenics are the UK's leading specialist in medical cosmetic procedures and aesthetic (non surgical) treatments. We have a ticket only event on the evening of July 9th which will answer all your questions about lip enhancement, smoothing and softening lines, thread vein correction and skin resurfacing (peels). There will be live demonstrations of some of these procedures on the night. Please call or pop into the salon to purchase a ticket (only £2.50 - to go to Tetbury Hospital).
Lines and folds are smoothed using natural products already found in the skin. A series of small injections are used to smooth away feathery fine lines, lift deeper lines and support and add volume to the skin. Expert medical practitioners will tailor these procedures to acheive the best results for each individual. A visit two to three times a year will maintain this effect.
Line Relaxing is a phenomenally successful treatment in massive demand. Predominantly for the softening and smoothing of expression lines; i.e. frown lines, forehead lines and crows feet. The ideal result softens and takes out lines, and still leaves some natural expression. The fact that over 90% of people who try this treatment repeat it, is its own recommendation. MAY
Everyone at Cherish was delighted when we received a phone call in May from Matis, to inform us that we had been shortlisted for 'Fastest Growing Salon of the Year'. We were also extremely proud that our senior beauty therapist Hayley Mountjoy has been shortlisted for 'Beauty Therapist of the Year'. There has been a lengthly judging process including the submission of a portfolio created by Hayley and Charlotte, and mystery shoppers checking the quality of our knowledge and treatments. The Awards Ceremony is held in London at the end of June.
The Academy refurbishment is now finished and students have been attending a variety of beauty courses. Our diploma courses are all industry approved and accredited, with many past students building successful businesses after completing their training with us. Some of our students travel a long way to train at Cherish and therefore we sometimes require models for the different courses. Most courses are held on weekdays and all treatments are fully supervised. If you are interested in modelling for us then call and leave your details and we will put you on our database.
Our hairdressing studio is extremely busy and we are now looking for additional hairdressers to join our relaxed and friendly team. We have a good rates and incentives on chair rental. Call Luisa at the salon for details.
The fantastic May weather meant a huge demand for spray tanning. The new 'Essence of Summer' Spray Tan has gone down a storm with our clients. It gives a fabulous sun kissed tan, and has a gorgeous refreshing smell of Strawberries and Melon - a nice change from the usual DHA scent of traditional spray tan liquids. Our spray tans are applied in tanning pod which has an extraction unit installed to safely draw in the airbourne 'over-spray' particles and vapours so that our clients don't breathe them in.
Our new offer is a Holiday Package. Perfect for those of you jetting off on your hols, and also great for a special occasion or just a nice treat for yourself. APRIL
Luisa and Donna competed in the National Nail Competition at the NEC in Birmingham and were really pleased when Luisa won a 2nd place and Donna won a 3rd place, putting them amongst the top nail technicians in the UK. We have the trophies and photos of the girls on stage collecting their awards, on display in the salon. Lisa and Chantel attended 2 hair styling courses - a trend release, cutting and colouring update, and a 'hair up' course. This gave them lots of new creative ideas and inspiration which will be put to good use in the hair studio.
MARCH
We believe it is crucial to attend as many beauty and hair trade shows as possible in order to keep up to date with the latest trends and techniques in order that we can keep offering the best services to our clients. In March,we visited London for the weekend to visit the biggest beauty trade show of the year - Professional Beauty Excel. We had a lengthy journey upto Docklands, including many wrong turns and much shouting at the sat nav! We came back from the show with a host of new information and a car packed with new products! We spent much time at the Pure Fiji stand, which are the exquisite products used in our signature treatment 'Cherished'. We brought back the range in retail sizes, including room spray, exfoliator, body butter and bath milk. It has flown off the shelves and we had to re-order the following week! Luisa and Donna were very excited to secure a private training session with one of the leading nail techs in the world to learn new innovative techniques - but more about that next month! The salon has been extremely busy in all areas this month, and receptionist Georgina is now working for us to keep things running like clockwork!
FEBRUARY
Our open evening was a huge success and we were packed to the rafters from beginning to end. Our demos were particulary popular, and our guests experienced Indian Head Massage, Perfect Nail Polishing and Nail Art, SK4 Facials and Skin Prescriptions. Senior Hair Stylist Lisa performed a restyle on model Helen who went from long hair to short bob, prompting a flurry of bookings from watching guests! There was a huge crowd around the Beau Visage skin imaging machine all evening, with countless guests having their photo taken and then viewing sun damage, blood and melanin that is not visible to the naked eye. This enables us to assess the impact of products and treatments before those changes can be seen.
JANUARY
The Christmas holidays gave our staff a well deserved break in which to relax after our extremely busy December. We were pleased to welcome an additional member of staff in January - Adelle Mustoe. Adelle is a talented Nail Stylist with an eye for detail and plenty of enthusiasm.
Beauty Therapist Charlotte spent time in Kent on a training course for the SK4 electrotherapy facial which is so popular with our clients. She passed with flying colours - in fact she scored the highest exam mark of all the students on her course.
DECEMBER

OCTOBER
This month we introduced Indian Head Massage into the salon. As well as offering this as a holistic therapy, our hair stylists have also qualified and use it during hair washing and conditioning. Whilst your hair is being cleansed the stylist performs specific Indian Head massage movements to relax and de-stress you. Perfect after a hectic day at the office!
AUGUST
Senior beauty therapist Hayley Mountjoy is now offering red vein treatment with advanced electrolysis after receiving fantastic training from Gill Morris, widely regarded as the premier UK teacher of electrolysis. Our online shop is now up and running, enabling those of you who don't live locally to Cherish to purchase Matis and Joico products, and even gift vouchers for the salon.
JULY
We are pleased to welcome Beauty Therapist Charlotte who joined our team of staff this month. We now have 7 hair and beauty therapists at Cherish. We are a friendly team with each member well qualified and specialising in a particular field. The terrible July weather brought many clients in for comforting treatments such as massage, and warm body wraps. We had some great text offers go out to all of our registered clients. JUNE
Congratulations to Chantel who has successfully passed her NVQ in hairdressing, and is already wowing clients with her hairdressing skills and creative flair. MAY
Salon Manager, and Senior Hair Stylist Lisa passed her NVQ Assessors award in Hairdressing, allowing her to teach and assess the work of NVQ hairdressing students. The celebrities' favourite slimming and celluilite reduction treatment - 'Endermologie' was launched at Cherish. This FDA approved treatment has had fantastic results which have been proven in many clinical trials. Don't miss our unbeatable June offer on Endermologie which gives clients £100 off a course!
APRIL
Salon owner and nail tech Luisa, was pleased to win a second place at the UK Nail Tech 2007 competitions held at the NEC in Birmingham, missing first place by 1 point! Fellow nail tech Donna was the model on the day. They are hoping to compete in the Irish competition at Dublin in October.
MARCH
We teamed up with Tetbury Football Club and other local 'victims' to host a gents leg wax in aid of Comic Relief. Beauty Therapist Hayley did a very efficient job on all those hairy legs! Along with the Red Nose Day spray tans and celebrity sweepstake we are proud to have raised over £500, with monies still coming in.
FEBRUARY
Exclusive to Gloucestershire, Cherish introduce the luxury 'Pure Fiji' products to the salon. Pure Fiji is used is some of the most renowned spas in the world including the extravagant spas of Las Vegas. We use their sugarcane scrubs, coconut body milk and oils for our Scrubs and Massages. It leaves a wonderful fragrance to the skin, which is also left nourished, soft and hydrated. We are always searching for new ingredients and products to enhance our treatments even further. For example, our hot wax is from France and our hairdressing chairs were shipped over from the Far East!
